Really fun market to walk around at night. Yeah it’s definitely touristy, but honestly that’s part of the vibe. Loads of food options, fresh juices, mango sticky rice, seafood, desserts, cocktails, pretty much everything. We ended up going back more than once just because it was such an easy place to grab random snacks and chill for a couple of hours. The staff at the stalls were all super friendly too. If you’re staying around Kata, it’s 100% worth checking out.

A proper night market — lively, touristy, and better for it. Vendors are mostly clothing and souvenirs, and haggling is expected — realistically 10-30% off the asking price if you're willing to push a little. The main strip has some food mixed in, but the better eating is across the road: dumplings, ribs, pad thai, seafood, burgers, sit-down spots and drink stands. Chang 70 baht for a small bottle, Mojitos at 100 baht with a strong pour. Worth a wander if you're based in Kata for the evening.

Kata Walking Street was such a fun experience in Phuket! Loved the whole vibe, lively, vibrant, and full of amazing street food options everywhere you look. We tried the pork ribs, shrimp noodles, spiral potatoes, and coconut ice cream, and everything was absolutely delicious. Perfect place to walk around, try different foods, and just enjoy the atmosphere. Great food, great energy, and definitely a must-visit if you’re in Phuket!

A must-do experience in Phuket. You can stroll around while choosing from a wide variety of Thai food and drinks. If Thai food isn’t your thing, there are plenty of international options as well. The market also offers fun activities like target shooting, as well as clothing and souvenir shopping. The staff are friendly and happy to help you choose based on your preferences. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Phuket

During our first visit to Phuket in 2024, weeks we used to eat here pretty much every day. But I am glad we don’t anymore. Although the location of Kata Night Market is very convenient as it’s close to Kata Beach and several hotels like Ozo, Wekata, Grand Kata VIP, and Sugar Marina. That’s probably the best thing I can say about it. Unfortunately, the food experience is disappointing. The portions are very small for the price you pay, the quality of the products and cooking has downgraded a lot in these 2 years. There’s no air conditioning, and it gets incredibly stuffy and hot inside. From 6 PM until closing time, the market is packed with people. Guests are squeezed together with barely any space between tables and chairs. The heat, combined with the crowd and strong food smells, makes it quite unpleasant and uncomfortable. The food is served in plastic dishes, there’s nowhere to comfortably wash your hands and visit the toilet which makes the whole experience nasty. Later on, we have switched to be eating in Rich Restaurant (close by), during the nighttime (note that the prices there are higher, but the portions and the average experience are better) and Som Jid restaurant (located in the Kata day market - to the opposite direction from the night market) for the daytime, which unfortunately works only until 8 pm.

I love wandering around night markets and sampling street foods but this one was pretty average if I'm honest. Very touristy but that's to be expected given that it's located right at the centre of the main tourist hub. I enjoy a bustling atmosphere but this was the wrong variety; unfortunately I've got to agree with reviewer Jeroen Hanneman: "shoulder-to-shoulder with folks who behave like they're on an all-inclusive cruise ship" (kudos on the hilarious review) - I, too was barged into by people with a "main character complex", struggled to find a seat because the benches were hogged by families with ill-disciplined children crawling on tables who had long since finished eating, and when I did manage to get seated, found myself surrounded by people with no sense of personal space. The food was pretty good but there is better to be found in Taina market a few streets over which, although smaller, has a much better vibe, live music and easier access to seating. These negatives, it must be said, we're not the fault of the vendors but the crowd. I don't know why the tourists here behave the way they do as I've not experienced the same conduct in many of the other markets around Phuket. This is a shame as there is plenty of choice here and many varieties of street food and fresh fish but to my disappointment I got to try very few. Were it not for the ignorant behaviour of this particular type of tourist, Kata Walking Street would be a fantastic place to stroll around of an evening; the vendors* were warm and friendly and it's always a joy to watch them cooking at their stalls. *They do seem to assume every customer is Russian even though I met many Scandinavians, Brits, Germans and Kiwis in Kata too.

Very touristy. Small portions of food comparing to other places. Also more expensive from regular thai street food stalls. Lastly, no food they offer stands out in a good way. Not recommended. 2 stars not 1 because the staff at the market is helpful and always smiling

LOVE love love it! Amazing place to come. So vibrant and endless offerings of delicious food not to mention all the incredible bargains at the stalls. We came many times in March 25 during the day and at night during our 8 nights staying in Kata. We will be back same time next year for sure. It's super safe too. I had no issue letting my teenagers come by themselves and have a look around which they loved. It's just awesome 👌 🇹🇭❤️

Kata Walking Street is a lively night market. We tried mango sticky rice, fresh juice, shrimp, and rolled ice cream — all were delicious. The place is vibrant and quite crowded, but definitely worth a visit.
