I was wandering around with zero plans when I stumbled upon a jetty. A local lady told me the ferry to cross the famous Chao Phraya River was just 5 baht. Five baht? That’s cheaper than bottled water! So, I hopped on. The breeze was nice, the view was epic, and for a moment, I felt like the king of budget adventures. Honestly, if you’re in Bangkok and don’t do this, are you even living?

We decided to cross the river by boat to reach Iconsiam, and it turned out to be a great choice! For only 100 Baht per person, the boat dropped us off right outside the mall. It was not only affordable but also a scenic and peaceful way to arrive, passing by fountains and beautiful views of the river. The boat access was far more convenient and relaxing compared to navigating the road to Iconsiam, which can get crowded and hectic. This route allowed us to avoid the usual traffic and enjoy a more enjoyable experience. The boat wasn’t too busy, so we could comfortably sit and take in the sights before reaching our destination. Arriving at Iconsiam by boat adds a unique charm to the visit and makes the entry feel special. No info for tourists is certainly not helping. And having random guy come up and said 200 baht per person for one trip is worse. Just ignore them. Actually it's like 16 for 2 people if you go to Wat Suwan Cross River Ferry Pier and walk to IconSiam from there (about 5 mins) Other reviewers said you can wait for a big boat with a lot of people in it and get direct access to IconSiam. We didn't wait for that to verify. However for us it's pad when you walk out of the boat and at the pier (a little store) We took a boat like this.

This pier has a ginger cat with a red collar who lost its home. A ginger cat always sleeps on the chair. Anyway, this pier can be crossed to Icon Siam but you need to walk through Pier Wat Suwan ferry costs 5-10 THB.

Oriental pier. Chao Phraya express orange flag boat drop at this pier. There is boat travelling to opposite river bank, but a few passengers take it. Prephap there us free shuttle boat to Iconsiam. I was charged TaHB10.- to the opposite river bank.

We paid 200 baht which felt like a rip off. Other reviews are claiming 5-15 baht per person but there were no information at all for tourists. I can only try to be helpful by providing the pier I boarded from. It was from the alley pass mandarin oriental. Check out other piers or ask around so you don’t end up paying 200 baht too 🥲

The Orange Flag boat is 16bht, decline any other offers. Below is picture of the recipt and what kind of boat to look out for (with the orange flag on the back) We took the boat to go see the Grand Palace instead of taking a taxi. It was hard to figure out what boat to take as there is no info, and there was a "very nice" man who was sitting at a "desk", who offered to take us there for 600bht. We declined and waited. A few minutes later, the boat with the orange flag approached. It cost 16 bht.

Old. Torn apart informations. Slow. But when you patient enough to wait for the boat to pick you up at this pier, the river can calm you down eventually.

Scammers!!! He charged 100 baht per person! Didn't give you time to decide. He was very rude and rushing people to go! Be careful and use another Pier! Oriental Pier near Mandarin Oriental Hotel near Assumption College and Church.

CAREFUL! SCAMMERS Scammers tried to make us pay 100 bath per person - those are not official workers!! True price is 10 bath for foreigners. Just tell them you know the price and will wait for the boat.
