My Beach Resort

We just finished our third stay in three years at My Beach Resort Phuket and once again it was an amazing experience. The resort is small but beautiful, very peaceful and family-like. Every time we come here, it feels like coming home. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the service is excellent, the food is very good, and the beach is clean and relaxing. The area around the hotel is quiet, cozy and perfect for people who want to relax away from the crowded tourist spots. If you are looking for a calm, comfortable and warm atmosphere, this place is definitely for you. We will definitely come back again. Thank you My Beach Resort Phuket!

I really wish I could be writing a glowing review, but my experience at My Beach Resort Phuket has not lived up to my traditional standards and has been beyond disappointing. I am currently still staying at the resort and had booked a Premier Beach Front room via Priceline. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was escorted to a lesser and incorrect Pool Access room. After consulting the front desk and repeatedly providing the Priceline receipts, showing the paid for Premiere Beachfront room, they informed me that they would need to contact the 3rd party booker and get back in touch with me. I was never reached back out to by the front desk and had to get on the phone and talk to Priceline for over 2 hours to get to the bottom of the issue myself. The 3rd party coded the incorrect reservation type and because of their booking error, the front desk suggested I could either stay in the erroneous room or pay an upgrade fee per day for the correct room in which I had already paid for and they could visibly see the reservation was made for. In what world is a hotel guest forced to pay an upgrade fee for the room in which they already fully paid for? I understand mistakes happen, but the staff made zero effort to help resolve it. No empathy, no alternative solutions, and I was basically told to take it up with Priceline. To make matters worse, the third party called the hotel to see if the Premier beachfront room was available and it was. Any normal customer service representative would immediately provide the correct room for the guest. I paid for a specific experience, and instead I was left feeling stranded. Customer service means owning the guest experience, not shrugging off responsibility. I won’t be back.

I chose to stay here on my recent trip to Phuket. Overall, the atmosphere of the hotel is quite lovely peaceful beach, calm surroundings, and a relaxing vibe that I really enjoyed. However, the room experience was a bit below expectations. Upon entering, there was a noticeably musty smell, which was quite unexpected. Cleanliness around the sink area could also be improved, as it didn’t feel as well-maintained as it should be. I would rate the cleanliness around 6/10. One of the more disappointing points was the housekeeping policy regarding towels. I was informed that towels would only be replaced if left on the floor. Personally, I find this “eco” approach understandable, but it would be more thoughtful if replacements could be offered without guests having to request or follow specific steps. Having stayed in several 4–5 star hotels, I do feel there’s room for improvement in terms of overall service and attention to detail.
