Tara Jit Massage

Tourists: Stay away from this place. The pricing is misleading, the business is unprofessional, and the staff are a poor representation of proud Thai people. Another major red flag is that the business tries to hide/confuse its identity. The storefront, online listings, and the name that appeared on my credit card statement did not match. My card was charged by "TARAJIT-NONGPRUE," which made it even more difficult to identify who I had actually paid. I will also be uploading current photos of the storefront so future visitors know exactly which location to avoid. The shop itself is run-down, dirty, and focused on ripping people off. Pattaya has hundreds of honest massage businesses with transparent pricing and much better service. Don't risk your vacation here—there are far better places to spend your money. This kind of shop damages Thailand's reputation. Most Thai people are honest and kind, but this shop makes tourists lose trust in them. It's a real shame.

This isn't a legitimate massage parlor; they primarily offer "special services." They do provide regular massages, but the massage beds are unclean, and the sheets look like they haven't been changed in a long time—they're not changed for each customer. We didn't know it wasn't a legitimate massage parlor at first; we only found out after paying, but they wouldn't give us a refund. My girlfriend developed eczema all over her body the day after her massage here.

She asked me to lie down on my back first, and worked solely on the bottom of my legs. When I told her I didn't want a "special massage", she told me to lay on my stomach.. and just massaged my legs... up and down, no massage knowledge whatsoever. After 15 minutes, I walked out. She didn't even bother asking why, and all the other staff avoided eye contact or talking to me. She hadn't touched my back once. You've been warned...

The foot massage was done very well.

My impressions were bad. We agreed on a classic Thai massage for 500 at the entrance, that was more expensive then usially, discussed the levels of stimulation, and when I went in, she said I could take a shower after the heat, but there was no towel. Then she gave me one. Instead of a regular massage, she started doing an oil massage. When I was upset, she pretended not to understand, ok. After 10 minutes, she said she wasn't a massage therapist and offered special services. I practically convinced her to change the massage therapist, but with the other woman the massage lasted about half an hour instead of an hour.

The girls were quite pretty. I initially thought it would be a regular massage, but it turned out the pretty girls didn't massage my feet. I was tricked into going upstairs for an aromatherapy massage, paying 550 baht to the front desk. The upstairs room had absolutely no privacy. Right from the start of the massage, they asked if I wanted sex. After I agreed, they showed me the price for a full service: around 3000 baht. The service was okay, not too perfunctory, but the price was a bit high. With that money, I might as well have gone to the large public bathhouse next door. 😢
