Patong Elephant Care

We chose this sanctuary because it was highly rated and the closest one to our resort, and with limited time this seemed like the best option. The ticket price per person was 1,000 baht, which included feeding the elephants different fruits and grass, taking photos with them, getting a “trunk kiss,” plus water and fruit at the end for us and small elephant souvenirs. The place itself is very scenic with great views, and the elephants were friendly and calm around people. There were no chains, no riding, and I didn’t see any obvious mistreatment while we were there. However, I’m still unsure how ethical this sanctuary truly is. On the positive side, there are no rides, no visible chains, and the elephants are free to move around the open area near the visitors. They seemed relaxed and comfortable, and the staff did not appear to hurt them. On the other hand, the space for the elephants felt quite small, so I’m not sure how much they can genuinely roam or explore. The elephants stayed near the visitors and the food the entire time, and during the few hours we were there, I never saw them step away or take a break from interacting with people. Staff also gave them commands to “smile,” pose for photos, and open their mouths for direct feeding, which made the experience feel a bit more like a show than a truly hands-off sanctuary. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience, but I left feeling uncertain about how ethical it really is from the elephants’ perspective. Sharing so others can make an educated decision.

Elephant-riding tours were never an option for me, they simply didn’t feel ethical. Instead, we visited a sanctuary where, for 1,000 baht per person, you’re welcomed with an elephant-shaped keychain and fresh fruit. There, you get to spend time feeding and bathing four elephants of different ages. The youngest one was named Messi, and he completely stole my heart — easily the sweetest of them all. 🐘✨

Great adventure! Entrance: 1000 baht. Gift key chain at the entrance. There were baskets full of food for the elephants, which we fed and stroked. A nice girl took pictures of us with the elephants. They were very friendly and used to people. At the end there was a snack with fresh fruit for us. I will definitely visit them again! I recommend!

**Amazing Elephant Care Experience – Highly Recommend!** This was an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff was fabulous, so kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the elephants. You can really tell that the animals are well cared for and not exploited for tourists. There are no rides or shows, just genuine interaction in a respectful environment. We were given fruits and water upon arrival, then got to feed, bathe, and spend time with the elephants. They even took great photos for us throughout the experience. It was beautiful, fun, and heartwarming from start to finish. All of this for only 1,000 THB, totally worth it. If you're looking for an ethical and unforgettable elephant experience, this is the place to go!

Wonderful, Intimate Elephant Feeding! ​We ended up visiting this center by chance, but it felt like fate! This is a lovely, small place focused on feeding and intimate interaction. They have 5 elephants, including an adorable 2-year-old baby. The feeding session is fantastic—truly free flow, allowing you to spend plenty of time with the elephants. ​The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, even teaching us how to pose with the elephants for the best photos. Afterward, we appreciated the service of a cold drink and a fresh fruit platter. ​The cost was 1000 baht per person. My only minor critique is that the activities were limited mainly to feeding, so don't expect a full-day program. However, for a high-quality, memorable feeding experience with friendly elephants and great service, this is a wonderful choice. Highly recommend! (4/5 Stars)

Exactly what I wanted to do. Feed some happy elephants ❤️ No silly up selling or add-ons. No advance booking needed and it wasn't crazy busy there either! VERY hot (we went mid April), I would suggest going in the morning.

After doing a ton of research, found out that this is one of the best and one of the most ethical elephant sanctuary in Patong. The owner was this adorable and welcoming lady who takes every effort to make you fell at home. She explained everything about the process, told us the story of each elephant and how they rescued a few of them. For 1000 baht per person, they offer you access to feed the elephants, two full baskets of fruits to feed them, a trinket and water before the feeding and a fruit platter after. This experience was absolutely worth the cost and more. The handlers show utmost respect and love for these elephants and do not show any form of aggression or force the elephants to do anything they don't want to. They're extremely friendly and kind with visitors. This is one of those ethical sanctuaries where you can feed and take photos with these elephants and not ride them which is a positive considering what other reserves offer in their hunger for money. I will definitely recommend this to everyone, especially those with little children. You'll leave with happy memories for sure.

Beautiful small location where the elephants (at least as far as you can see) are treated very well. No chains or harsh behaviour. We were given plenty of food to feed them and we weren’t rushed to finish.

Great! Wonderful! Do it. 1000 Baht per person. You can take your time, give them food. Each elephant seems to have a favorite, some like more banana, others corn, next banana. Elephants can walk around freely. Yes, you also get to do photo posing. After feeding them and taking tons of pictures. You can chill and get some mango, watermelon. Keep watching them. Some tourists rush trhouhj do feeding and go. We took our time and chilled in total like 3hours. Just enjoying also to watch them interact with each other after tourist feeding was done. They look to me like pretty happy Elephants :). You don't have to book in advance, we did call and tell them. But there is no need for that.

Awesome morning out were given 3 buckets of different fruits and veggies for the elephants The guys who look after the elephants were really nice helped taking photos and videos getting us to have cuddles with them! These elephants were not chained down they were free to roam around and they were rolling around in the muddy water! Elephants have been rescued and now they are cared for fun these lovely people and would recommend people to a support their cause !
