Lumina massage

I was thrilled with my first Thai massage. I asked for a stronger one, and they kneaded it super well, but most importantly, they saved my right arm. I fell on my shoulder in the winter and dislocated it. When it healed, I couldn't move my right arm back; it was incredibly painful, but the Thai massage therapist kneaded my right arm so well that I could move it back again. Apparently, the muscles were tight, but she helped me, and I'm very grateful for that.

My husband and I had a couples massage with coconut oil. We really enjoyed it; the masseuses were experienced (we get massages often and have something to compare them to). I had a relaxing massage, my husband wanted a more intense one—they did exactly what we asked. The salon was clean, not too hot or too cold, and the coconut oil seemed good quality; at least, it smelled great. We'd previously had massages at another salon, and the masseuses there were terrible, and the oil was of a strange origin, making it very difficult to wash off. We highly recommend this massage salon and will return ourselves.

This place is super convenient as it’s right outside my hotel, but my experience has been very mixed. The first massage I had here was honestly one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life. The therapist spoke good English, was clearly very experienced, and her technique was incredible. I’ve had a lot of massages before, and hers was genuinely amazing. Unfortunately, every experience after that went downhill. The second time, I had a different therapist (they switched near the start of the massage without telling me), and it was genuinely one of the worst massages I’ve ever had. She used tiger balm, which normally is great, but with poor technique it left me freezing and sick after. I gave the place another chance a few days later because of the location, but it ended up being the same therapist again. I wasn’t 100% sure at first, but the moment she started massaging me I immediately knew. I felt awkward leaving, but after 15 minutes I genuinely couldn’t take it anymore and went to speak to the guy at the counter (something I’ve never done before). I was told it would cost 200 baht to cancel a 300 baht massage, so I just sat through it. The staff are polite and kind, but with the level of inconsistency, it really feels like a gamble. One therapist was exceptional, but the other left me feeling worse than when I came in. Unfortunately, I’m completely turned off from this place and won’t be coming back.

I stayed at the Patong Castle Hotel, and this massage parlor was right downstairs. The massage techniques were very comfortable, and the masseuses were all quite strong. The price was reasonable; a Thai massage was 300 baht per person. The only downside was that the shop was rather small, and there were motorcycles outside, so it was a bit noisy.
