Ayara Massage and Spa Kamala

My wife and I went for a couple’s massage, I wanted deep tissue she wanted standard. Our massages were good so we booked again for the following day at the same time with the same therapists. We arrived on time for our next massage, one of the masseuses was eating and the other was not around. They told us to go inside while they drummed up new business outside to a group of 4. They did come inside and I was wondering to myself how are they going to service 6 clients?! They do not appear to have 6 masseuses. After sitting around for a few minutes while they prepared a spot for us we were led inside and instructed to change and lie down. After what seemed like a while I was going to begin chatting with my partner only to see her massage had started. I continued to wait patiently until 20 minutes had gone by, then I decided to look at my phone to pass the time. My partner’s masseuse started to apologize and explain they had called another masseuse to come. I asked for the WiFi so I at least had a way to pass the time. After another 20 minutes I started to get dressed so I could at least sit up and wait in the reception area. My partner’s masseuse apologized again and explained that the other therapist was coming. After another 5 minutes a therapist came and hastily started my massage. My massage was pretty good but the therapists did talk with each other which is very annoying and makes it difficult to relax. The day before they were more professional …and we were the only clients. They did apologize several times afterwards but it was still very annoying that we had to wait an extra hour and all they offered was an apology. A comped massage, a future discount, or additional minutes would have gone a long way to fixing their mistake….but no, nothing. My conclusion is you might get a decent massage if they aren’t busy, you may not have a good experience if they are busy. They certainly don’t treat returning customers who tipped well like they are valued.

This time I visited Kamala for three weeks. During that time, I had all my massages at Ayara Massage. On most days I had two massages (one in the morning with coconut oil and one in the evening with aloe vera), on a few occasions I had neck massages and I also had two body and foot scrubs. The salon is very clean and the beds and sofas are comfortable. The masseuses took their time and went the extra mile to make my stay as relaxing as possible. Without exception, the massages were the best I’ve ever had. The only thing I can complain about is that I won’t be able to enjoy all this again until next time.

A wonderful place! I highly recommend it! Conveniently located on the way to the beach. They offer almost every type of massage, at least a dozen! From traditional Thai to sports. All the girls are very professional and engaged. I highly recommend trying the back, neck, and shoulder massage! The foot massage is extremely beneficial for targeting key areas responsible for many organs, but it may feel painful to some, so be sure to adjust the pressure and friction, asking the therapist for guidance. 😀
