💬 What reviewers say
Well worth a visit if you’re after a more authentic Thai floating market experience while in Bangkok. Unlike some of the more commercialized spots, this one leans local. You’ll find more Thai families than tourists wandering the canals and food lanes. Prices are seriously reasonable, whether you’re digging into cooked food or picking up fresh vegetables and fruits. It feels grounded and genuine, not overly polished for visitors. Plenty of parking available at THB20. If you want to explore further, optional boat rides go for about THB100, an easy add on to round out the experience. A laid back, no frills market that delivers on local flavor and charm.
The clean floating market in Bangkok is easily accessible and offers numerous toilets. I recommend to carry cash for payments. Additionally, you can take a direct boat ride to Wat Arun. I highly recommend visiting this place. Food was fresh and delicious!
Honest review! It's only worth it if it's your first time at an Asian food market. Otherwise, it's definitely not. The market itself is very typical of Thailand. Many people, like me, go there for the boat ride. But the boat ride is definitely not worth it. Basically, you're taken for 30-40 minutes along some boring canals where there's rarely anything to see other than concrete walls. Photos and videos are helpful (just keep in mind these are the best shots).
I honestly really enjoyed the market! It does not have many floating stalls, but considering how close it is to Bangkok, I thought it was amazing!! Loved the local feeling. We arrived early on the weekend and there was so many locals buying their veggies. Tourist groups arrived later close to lunch time. There is also a nice part of the market where we can buy souvenirs. All vendors were very friendly
The market itself is a typical thai market. A bit local (where they sell ingredients in bulk) and a lot aimed at tourists. Overall a pleasant experience. There are 7 zones. Take the boat tour in zone 1 (there are different tours in different zones), the one at zone 1 cost us 100 baht for 1 hour, took us to a little cafe only reachable by boat, it was quite nice.
A market with really great food. You should not come here for the boat rides, but rather for the many excellent food stalls and the overall market atmosphere. This is one of our favorite markets in all of Bangkok because of the vibe. We had a really good khao soi in the second last section, so if you like khao soi, it is definitely worth trying.
I was a bit reluctant at first, but this market was a nice surprise. The north section feels very local, relaxed, and great for sitting down and eating from small counters. The south part is much more touristy and crowded. Walk around the nearby streets too, they are very charming 🌴😴 …
This is one of those less-touristy floating market near Bangkok heart proces are local too. Dont miss out the canal ride. Plenty of gems like thrift stores, crafts, and regional delicacy
If you are looking to visit a unique market that still is quite local, not too touristic and still has Thai authencity, this is your market to visit! The market majorily focuses on food, but there are also some souvenir or gift shops. There are many different food options, really delicious and very affordable food. Highly recommended!
If you want to experience a real floating market, don’t come here. This market is only open on weekends, and there are just a few boats on the river. Most of the shops are located on land, not on the water. The boat ride is a joke. They drive extremely fast through the canal just to take you to another market where, once again, all the shops are on land. There are no boats in the water like you’d expect at a floating market. The boat tour costs 100 baht and is not worth it. I would not recommend this place. It’s also very far to get to using public transportation.
