A beautiful resort located on a hillside overlooking the city, offering lovely panoramic views. The area is peaceful and quiet, making it an excellent choice for travelers who prefer to stay away from crowded and noisy locations. My room was in Building 8, the highest building in the resort and the furthest from the reception. There is only one elevator, which is a bit slow, so you may need to wait occasionally. The room was spacious, the bathroom was excellent, and the overall value for money was outstanding. The reception staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The swimming pool has a beautiful view of the city, and the resort also offers a gym and spa. This is a great hotel for guests who focus on comfort, location, and value rather than small details. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to sleep at a reasonable price, this resort is an excellent option. One small suggestion for improvement would be to install power outlets or USB charging ports closer to the bed, as this would make charging phones and other devices more convenient for guests. One final note: if you are elderly or have difficulty using stairs, you may want to consider another hotel, as moving around the resort can be challenging despite the availability of an elevator. I gave this hotel a 4-star rating because it met my needs and expectations. I tend to focus on the overall experience and value rather than small details that may bother some guests.

I recently stayed for one night at Karon Phunaka Resort, and it was a truly beautiful experience. The resort is situated on the mountain, blending luxury with nature through its interior and exterior design. I stayed in a deluxe room that offered a stunning sea view. The room was comfortable, well-maintained, and gave a premium feel. My only small suggestion would be to improve the air conditioning for added comfort. Being on the 4th floor, I appreciated the efficient lift system, which made access easy despite the mountain setting. The infinity pool was another highlight — relaxing and scenic, perfectly complementing the resort’s peaceful atmosphere. Overall, it was a wonderful stay combining natural beauty with thoughtful luxury. I would definitely recommend Karon Phunaka Resort and look forward to visiting again.

This hotel looked super modern online, but in reality that was far from the truth. The rooms were old and smelled musty, and the bathroom was full of limescale. The worst part was that there were no power outlets near the bed. In general, there were barely any outlets, and the only two were located on the other side of the room, which was really inconvenient. And then there’s the layout of the hotel… imagine getting assigned a room all the way at the top floor: you’ll have to take about three elevators and still walk up unnecessary stairs in between. So if you’re looking for a voluntary marathon during your vacation, this is definitely the place for you. The layout makes no sense and feels very outdated. That being said, I do have to admit that the service was excellent. When we wanted to cancel our stay, it obviously wasn’t possible anymore, but the staff still did their best to help us and gave us another room downstairs so we wouldn’t have to deal with as many stairs. The staff were super friendly, cheerful, and helpful, and they definitely deserve more appreciation. Unfortunately, the hotel itself really brings the experience down. It could use a lot more investment in renovation and a more practical layout. For the price, it’s acceptable, but it could definitely be much better.

It is among the best resorts I have ever stayed at. The buildings are beautifully located on the hillside and cliffside. Access from the lobby to all rooms is very convenient, with elevators and buggy service provided as well. …

⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️My money was stolen from my room when I went to breakfast in the morning, and I noticed it in the evening. I reported it to reception, but they said they would in the morning. No one called, no one cared. They didn't ask anything about what happened. The manager wasn't there, the assistant didn't care. They just sent a message via email saying they spoke to the room cleaners, and they said they didn't take any money. That was it, the matter was closed. My money is gone, and I have to check out the same day. The next day, the police requested a report from the hotel, but the hotel didn't report it. The hotel isn't taking responsibility. Why? Because there hadn't been any previous thefts at the hotel. Also, it's very strange; the cleaner asked me twice when I was checking out, and I told her when. I think the cleaners steal what they want the day before the customers check out, because by the time you realize it, you're at the airport or on the plane. 😂 A good theft plan! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Take care of your belongings.‼️🙌

Hidden gem in Karon! What a truly hidden gem in Karon. We had an amazing stay and couldn’t be happier with the overall experience. Staff: Absolutely amazing — always smiling, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. From reception to room service, everything was perfect. Special thanks to Khwat, who was outstanding — always smiling, proactive, and genuinely caring towards guests. Breakfast buffet: Excellent variety with something for everyone — fresh fruits, teas, Thai food, English breakfast options, salads, desserts, and even a live egg station. Honestly, what more could you ask for? Room service: Fantastic service, no complaints at all. The staff were very humble and attentive to our needs. Rooms: Spacious, clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning was just perfect. Location: The hotel is slightly tucked away inside Karon, surrounded by nature. Some people complain about the stairs and lift, but that’s part of the charm of staying in a natural hillside setting. I personally enjoyed walking between the room and reception — the vibe was worth it. Pool: Great pool with an amazing view and a bar. (One small suggestion: it would be even better if the pool and gym stayed open until at least 8 PM.) Overall: I would definitely stay at Phunaka Resort again. It’s perfect for a relaxing vacation. Ignore the negative comments — come and experience it yourself, you won’t regret it!

The Good - Great Views, Rooms, infinity pool. Food is good. The bads - (why 3 star review) 1. if you are comfortable with lot of stairs, then none. Else, its on steep hill side, there are lifts but there is lots of walking and climbing stairs. (We faced issue as we had a stroller and a baby with us while doing up and down) 2. Resort is very big, but since it is on a hill, you will have to take stairs or lift to move from one level to another. (So basically not much area for you to take a peaceful stroll) 3. They will charge you for everything, in our case, a broken glass by a toddler.
